Flopcast 103: All Hail the Hoop Chicken

In this week's Flopcast (it's a short show, because we're sleepy): National Whatever Day has us celebrating lumpy things; a new "Pudding Pages" book leads to a discussion of perhaps the most horrifying trend of the mid-80s; our "Chickens in the News" segment somehow combines three of our favorite items (chickens, hula hoops, and comic books); and we plug some upcoming silly shows and events. (Hey, speaking of comic books — May 3rd is Free Comic Book Day. You know what to do.)

Kevin plugged the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival (May 1-4) and Niki Luparelli's latest show (May 2). Kornflake will be attending a Jim's Big Ego "Ego and the Oracle" concert on May 3, which also happens to be Free Comic Book Day. And at the end of the show, there's a promo for FuMPFest!.


Sometimes Kornflake picks a National Whatever Day so bizarre that it leaves us at a loss for words. Lumpy Rug Day is one of those occasions.


Our experimental new source for "The Pudding Pages" gave us Baby on Board. Felicity couldn't find a classic-style Chicken on Board sign, but she did find the following car magnet at mypetchicken.com.
